Eggnog Cupcakes..Yummy!!

Merry Christmas friends,
It is finally December. I like to celebrate Christmas early and extend it as long as I can. I love celebrating the birth of our Savior, the spirit of joy and love and the festive activities spent with my children.
As I am writing this blog I am baking eggnog cupcakes and the roast is in the oven. The girls can frost them later. I am sure the kids will devour them before bedtime.
What excites me about Christmas is the decorating. As a custom home furnishings designer, I've had many thoughts of fabricating window treatments, seat cushions, table runners, wreaths etc. just for this season. Crazy!  I know and expensive, but don’t under estimate me. One of these days I just might do it. As for now, the house is decorated with the kids favorite keepsakes. Their favorites are the nutcrackers. We even have a Scottish nutcracker with a kilt. Love that one!!!
I have the traditional 7’ tree in the living room. It’s looking pretty sad this year. Thanks to our six month old kitten. She is in her glory climbing up the center of the tree and batting the balls around the house. The picture to the right of this blog was taken last year, 2010. I am not going to bother showing you what it looks like. It’s embarrassing.
Of course, with no surprise, I have more than one tree in the house. I took my chances setting up this 4’ tree because of the kitten. We have a pink tree for the three girls in this house. Every year it is decorated with different themes and colors like purples and plums or hot pinks. Last year we decked it out with bright greens. This year the tree is perched on a table and lit with sparkling crystal, silver and glass ornaments, including pearls.
   See!!

Well, in the time I wrote this the aroma of nutmeg from the cupcakes and the melody of Christmas has filled the room. It is time to get back into the kitchen.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas. Make every moment special for those you love this Christmas season.
